Building Trusting Relationships for Student Well-being & Academic Success

The Family Resource Center (FRC) of the Roaring Fork Schools was founded in 1995 to support students whose health and basic needs challenges affect their learning. Today, the FRC serves as both a school- and community-based hub, with bilingual, bicultural family liaisons in all 12 district schools in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and Basalt. Grounded in the Strengthening Families and Protective Factors Framework, we provide strengths-based, two-generation support that addresses the needs of both children and parents. Using FRCA’s Family Development framework and Family Pathways tool, our liaisons deliver coordinated wrap-around services that build on family strengths, promote stability, and improve well-being.
